Evaluation of Coconut Fibre Reinforced Low Density Polyethelene Composites

Physical, mechanical and dynamic properties of composites produced from coconut fibres using pure water sachet (LDPE) as matrix were evaluated in this study order to assess its suitability for use particleboards. The LDPE (waste sachets) coir/fibre collected, shredded milled into pellets. Five compositions with fibre loading 5, 10, 15, 20, 25%, corresponding 95, 90, 85, 80 75%. A sixth sample 100% was also control. samples heated at 170°C 30 minutes, each melted solution loaded the mixture stirred poured a pre-designed metallic mould, pressed cured air 24 hours. results show that absorption, swelling thickness flaking concentration increased with, while density decreased. bending strength decreased loading, tensile strength, compressive modulus elasticity increasing point before decreasing sharply. analysis storage loss shows temperature these reduced except damping factor which increased. On whole, showed 15% 85% exhibits more desirable compared others. These imply can be used particleboards well areas other applications automobile industries. This will improve on savings foreign exchange mitigate environmental degradation result indiscriminate disposal portable sachets fibres.
